- About LEAMHA
LEAMHA (Lived Experience Advocates for Mental Health & Addictions) is a coalition led by people with lived experience of mental health and substance use challenges. Our mission is to ensure that the voices of individuals and communities are heard and valued, so that decisions and policies truly reflect those most directly impacted. “Nothing about us, without us” is the principle that guides us in our work.
We define lived experience as having personally navigated mental health and/or substance use challenges, including overcoming barriers in service systems and facing discrimination. Rooted in the consumer/survivor movement, our approach is shaped by Peer Support and Disability Justice frameworks. We center mutuality, intersectionality, and collective access, striving to build communities where everyone belongs and has the support to thrive.
Members were recruited through a rigorous, transparent process and will serve a term; we are still recruiting members. Please apply via this registration link: LEAMHA Coalition Membership Application Form – Fill out form
