DESCRIPTION:Peer support is unique because it fosters values including self-determination and equality\, mutuality and empathy\, recovery and hope. Discover insights from people who have lived similar experiences and relate it to your experience and that of loved ones.  The session is hosted live on Zoom. Register on Eventbrite. \nSusan Dobson has had a long-standing passion and interest in addressing social justice issues. Susan brings a unique perspective to her work\, as a person with lived experiences of mental distress as well as a person with lived experience as a family supporter of someone with experiences of mental distress. Susan has been working in the social services field in York Region for more than 15 years; most notably in the violence against women sector and the mental health and addictions sector. \nSusan trained as a Peer Supporter in 2011 and has been the Executive Director of the Krasman Centre for eight years. \nRegister Online on Eventbrite

DESCRIPTION:Join the Krasman Centre’s Virtual Trialogue event\, a proactive opportunity to communicate about mental health and addiction through dialogue and a participatory process in a neutral space.\nTheme: Self-Advocacy – How can we learn to speak up for ourselves? \n\n\n \nA trialogue is a neutral\, inclusive\, and safe space where everyone can gather to develop their understanding of mental health issues and the challenges of maintaining mental wellness and recovery.
