Support the Krasman Centre
Our peer support drop-in centres (Richmond Hill, Newmarket and Alliston) serve as physical hubs and resource centres for psychiatric consumer survivors, people affected by addictions, those experiencing homelessness as well as family members/caregivers.
Our low-barrier, hassle-free drop-ins are easy to access and are an ideal point of entry for many individuals to access a range of options available within the healthcare continuum.
– no wait-lists
– no need to make appointments
– no need to complete and in-take and/or assessments
– no diagnostic criteria is required to attend
You can make an impact on the lives of people in the north GTA:
Peer support in its many forms is extremely cost effective as it reduces the need for hospital admissions, emergency visits, and reliance on other mainstream mental health/addiction services which are financially more expensive in the mental health/addiction system.
$40 pays for a person’s visit to one of our drop-in centres
$400 pays for 12 hours of telephone based peer support
$1000 pays for a series of recovery education workshops for 10 people to attend for 8 weeks
$100,000 supports our goal of expanding our drop-in facilities to accommodate at least 40 additional visits/day.
