Krasman Centre has two Drop-Ins in Richmond Hill and Alliston.
Our Drop-Ins are supportive spaces that help people help themselves and one another. Our centres have no demands and no pathologizing, and they are places where one can relax, enjoy, and experience what the peer recovery movement offers.
Within the Drop-Ins, we also offer the following resources:
- Information, resources, access and referral to a variety of mental health recovery-related topics
- Training, education and skills building
- Computer/Internet access, phone/fax/photocopier use for consumers/survivors and self-help initiatives
- Workshops and groups promoting creativity, such as arts and crafts, poetry, and book club
- Basic needs for people experiencing homelessness: kitchen, assistance with winter needs, shower, laundry, etc.
The Newmarket Drop-in is now managed by Inn From The Cold.
The Application Support Program provides non-clinical case management assistance to individuals navigating the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) application process. The program supports York Region residents experiencing challenges related to mental health, substance use, or both, including those with physical disabilities that affect their mental well-being.
An Application Support Worker (ASW) assists participants in gathering necessary documentation, locating a physician, psychiatrist, or psychologist, and ensuring timely submission of ODSP application materials. The ASW may also arrange and accompany clients to key appointments, such as medical visits, Community Legal Clinic consultations, ID Clinic services, and Social Benefits Tribunal hearings.
Additionally, the program helps participants apply for other financial assistance programs, including CPP/OAS, EI, CCB, ACSD, and TDB, as appropriate, while awaiting an ODSP decision. Through this support, the program aims to improve access to essential benefits and services for individuals facing systemic and personal barriers.

For some, rediscovering hope stems from a single conversation with a person who was once in a similar situation.
The Peer Navigator Program establishes a peer navigator/peer supporter within Emergency Department Crisis Teams at North York General Hospital (NYGH) and Southlake Regional Health Centre (SRHC).
The Peer Navigator provides peer support to people attending the Emergency Department (ED) who demonstrate and acknowledge distress related to mental health &/or addiction challenges until clinicians and crisis workers can initiate their assessment.
The Peer Navigator assists people seeking care in the ED by connecting patients with community support. Drawing from their own lived experiences with mental health and/or addiction challenges, shared experiences and mutual understanding between the peer navigator and a patient can inspire hope, enhance recovery, and improve the quality of the patient experience both in the Emergency Department (ED) and through the rest of the health care system.
The program is funded through Ontario Health and organization partners to enhance the health of those seeking ED care.
For further information on the Peer Navigator program, please email: info@kasmancentre.com
This meeting is held on the first Friday of each month from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and is conducted online via Zoom.

Peer Supporters are individuals with lived experience who have experienced their recovery journey. Peer support is about a mutual, nonjudgmental relationship of giving and receiving support. Peer support workers use their authentic and meaningful life experiences to support others.
Peer Support Outreach: The Krasman Centre’s Outreach Peer Supporters are part of a mobile peer support program that meets individuals in the community at their point of need and where they are. Mobility allows for overcoming barriers that would limit access. It is about bringing support closer to those whose life experiences and circumstances make it difficult to access services. Examples include in-person meetings in community locations such as coffee shops, libraries and community centres.
