SUMMARY:Tough Stuff:  An All-Inclusive Addictions Virtual Group
DESCRIPTION:The Krasman Centre invites you to an all inclusive addictions virtual group\, supporting peers with challenges of substance use\, food and behaviors. \nThis is a group for open and honest discussions around what drives us to do what we do! This is a safe space to meet with others with lived experience\, who know how you feel! We will discuss what triggers us as well as share coping strategies. The Krasman Centre operates from a harm reduction perspective\, we are here to support you with any goals you may have. \nCome and join us for the opportunity for healing\, connection and accessing resources. There is a maximum number for the attendance for Tough Stuff. A facilitator will follow up with you with the details of the next group.\n\n\nThe topic for this session: Navigating Urges for Self Harm  \nWe are open to your input for topics for this cycle as well as for future groups of Tough Stuff. Please fill out this registration form to join this virtual group. You will receive a confirmation email after you have registered. \nYou only need to register once and you will receive the Zoom link and gentle reminders to connect you to Tough Stuff the day before or the day of\, each group. \nThe first 15 people to attend each session will be admitted to the group. This is to keep each session more intimate for sharing. We have changed the format to open up the group to all members. This will be managed by admitting on a first come\, first serve basis. You will be notified in the waiting room\, if the group for that session is full. \nThank you very much for your interest in Tough Stuff and we are really looking forward to spending quality time with you!

DESCRIPTION:LEAMHA (Lived Experience Advocates for Mental Health & Addictions) is a coalition led by people with lived experience of mental health and substance use challenges. Our mission is to ensure that the voices of individuals and communities are heard and valued\, so that decisions and policies truly reflect those most directly impacted. “Nothing about us\, without us” is the principle that guides us in our work.   \nWe define lived experience as having personally navigated mental health and/or substance use challenges\, including overcoming barriers in service systems and facing discrimination. Rooted in the consumer/survivor movement\, our approach is shaped by Peer Support and Disability Justice frameworks. We center mutuality\, intersectionality\, and collective access\, striving to build communities where everyone belongs and has the support to thrive.  \nMembers were recruited through a rigorous\, transparent process and will serve a term; we are still recruiting members.
