SUMMARY:Tough Stuff - An All-Inclusive Addictions Group
DESCRIPTION:The Krasman Centre invites you to an all-inclusive addictions virtual group\, supporting peers with the challenges of substance use\, food\, and behaviours.  \nNEW: Tough Stuff is updating its format to increase the group’s focus and the healing environment. It will be a 6-session group\, with a certification of your attendance at the end. \nTough Stuff runs every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month | 5 PM – 6:30 PM  \nThere will be increased structure by the facilitators\, and the opportunity for deeper sharing and personal exploration. We understand that healing from our substance and behavioural challenges requires the opportunity to grow and learn from one another.   \nThe topics for the 6 sessions are:  \n\nSelf-Compassion \nStrength in Vulnerability \nForgiveness \nInner Child\nMindfulness and Meditation\nConnection & Community \n\nThis is a group for open and honest discussions about what drives us to do what we do! This is a safe space to meet with others with lived experience\, who know how you feel! \nThe Krasman Centre operates from a harm reduction perspective\, we are here to support you with any goals you may have. \nPlease note registration for this cycle (October to December) is now closed. We will begin our next group on Tuesday\, January 10\, 2023. Please register using the online registration form if you are interested in participating in the next group. SUMMARY:World Poisoning Awareness Day
DESCRIPTION:World Overdose Poisoning Awareness Day is a virtual memorial and day of education and action. We aim to amplify the voices of PWUD\, raise awareness about overdose prevention\, and reduce the stigma that surrounds drug-related deaths. We demand an end to the racist and oppressive and failed ‘war on drugs.’ \nThe morning of this event will focus primarily on education around harm reduction\, the negative implications of the ‘war on drugs’ as well as resources of support. DESCRIPTION:Have you lost all social and emotional connections to others due to health issues or challenges? Has the pandemic made you feel isolated? You are not alone. \nThe Meeting Spot is a peer-led virtual support group for individuals touched by mental health and/or addiction challenges. \nHere\, we strive to maintain a welcoming environment where you will find support and understanding from others who share similar experiences. The Meeting Spot is an inclusive and non-judgmental space to share stories of hope\, strength\, determination and personal experiences while connecting with others.  \nPlease be advised registration is required. All virtual groups are accessible via Zoom video or dial-in by phone.
